Assist the PR Director to create writing content for the PRSSA newsletter and website such as:​


  • Blog posts

  • Meeting recaps

  • Speaker bios 

  • Internship spotlights

  • Conference recaps

  • Fundraising/ events recaps


  • Obtain 1 point by joining

  • Obtain points by writing content

  • Improve writing and AP skills

  • Obtain published writing pieces that can be used in your portfolio

If you are interested in the Proactive Committee, your job will entail working on a team to create a big Fundraising Campaign for PRSSA to help provide recruitment and bring funds into the Chapter.

Team Responsibilities: 

Event Coordinators 

  • Plan and run the event/fundraising activity decided for the Fundraising Project. 

  • Work with local organizations and businesses to help support the Fundraising Project. 

  • Make sure that the event is scheduled, following along the planned budget and all goals are being met. 

  • Determine cost, venue, activity, food or any details needed to help the event/activity run smoothly. 

Proactive Ambassadors

  • Schedule a Tabling Event in Free Speech Alley to help promote the Fundraising Project. 

  • Assist in gaining awareness for PRSSA Chapter and the Fundraising Project. 

  • Reach out to Mass Communication Classes and give a brief summary of the event.

  • Work with local organizations for sponsorships or Give Back Night opportunities. 

Social Media Team

  • Produce social media graphic content promoting the Fundraising Project in a manner that is consistent with the PRSSA and LSU requirement branding style and guidelines.

  • Coordinate photography and videography for the PRoactive Committee and submit to the committee Google Drive Folder.

  • Create any marketing materials needed for the Fundraising Project including, tri-fold boards, flyers or promotional items. 


  • Obtain 1 point by joining

  • Obtain 1 point by completing an Outreach Committee responsibility 

  • Gain communication and networking skills/opportunities by connecting with prospective members

  • Hands-on experience in marketing and promotions.
